Glamis marked a different kind of training for us.
The Rebelle U 3-Day Navigation Intensive opened the weekend with deep dives into world-navigation concepts, then layered in the practical tools that bring it all to life—maps, compass, plotter, minute ruler, and more. From classroom to field, the focus stayed the same: building a stronger foundation in non-digital navigation and learning how to think, not just follow.
Each day added complexity and confidence. The classroom work translated directly into field challenges, where speed, accuracy, and comfort with the tools started to matter just as much as understanding them.
Then came something new.
This was the first time the Rebelle Rally introduced Rebelle Trials in Glamis—a full-day mock rally stage that put everything into motion.
Teams were given trackers, maps, checkpoint guides, roadbooks, and bulletins, then sent out to “compete” in a single-day Rebelle stage. It was as close to real as it gets without being on the official course—scored, structured, and still supported with coaching along the way.
It wasn’t just practice. It was the moment all the pieces started to connect: navigation, teamwork, decision-making, and pace—all under pressure, all in real terrain.
Glamis gave us more than training. It gave us a glimpse of the rhythm, intensity, and mindset this event demands—and a better understanding of where we’re strong and where we still have work to do.
